Hi,

i'm a new member to your list from Australia. I have a
Liberty Lx / Legacy L 2.2. I am currently in the slow process of
increasing the power of my 2.2. (I NEVER HAVE ANY MONEY) I have
decided i don't want to turbo yet, but rather am looking towards
other options. I have a full 2 1/4 exhaust incl. hi-flow cat from the
engine pipes back and have done a 4 inch cold air induction from the
front grill straight through to a K&N filter. My next move is a port
and polish. Has anyone out there had one on their sooby, or know
someone who has, and has it made a considerable difference. The guy
has told me it will give me 10 - 15 more KW so i'm guessing it'll be
pretty good. Any suggestions on what else i can do to a non-turbo for
more power please reply.

Thanks George. OZ

Underdrive Pulley will give you a tad more power, and a lightened flywheel
will help get the revs up faster.

Sounds like you have done every thing you can do that doesn't cost
the earth.

Bore out your throttle body, this will nicely aid all the work you
spent on the cold air box. Bigger fuel pump and injectors or alcohol
and water injection run from a switch on WOT.

Yes a port and polish would make a difference but I would recomend
the above before you do this, so the engine doesn't lean out too much.

George-I have an NA motor also & have found the following very helpful: Borla headers, upgraded coil from an RS 2.5, Iridium plugs, upgraded wires, DIS-2 ignition. I know 2 of the items are`nt cheap, but they made a HUGE difference-good luck-ROD-(NO. AZ.)
