Panel Vs Cone filter?

The only major issues with the cone filters is that you are sucking hot air
in the engine compartment, so if you can isolate the cone filter, that is
good. Second thing is that the more air can cause problems with the MAF
sensor over time, also make sure the intake is securely fastened, as the MAF
does not like vibrations, which can also lead to the MAF sensor failure.

You'll be able to get more out of the cone filter then the panel filter.
They usually flow more which leads to better tuning capabilities; another
bonus (depeneding on how you look at it) is the sound that it makes at wide
open throttle, very loud in comparison to the in-box filter..
Whatever you choose, it's still better then the factory paper element. good
