Man, it's hard being the slow one in Street Mod...

Sure i've got coilovers and good tires and a decent bump in boost,
but the Utah SM contingent is just...tough.

1st is an AE86 Corolla with a J-Spec supercharged engine.
2nd is a 69 510 with a 3.0 V6 from a 300Z.
3rd is Alan's 96 Brighton with a 2.2T.
4th is a Turbo Honda Civic.
5th is a stroked Camaro
6th is a 323 GTX
7th is me
8th is a VW with a worked motor

The course was short, ~40 seconds, and was dominated by smallish,
light cars. Not to mention the surface is a parking lot that just
plain sucks.

Oh well, it's fun and i never did plan to win in SM!

Get some R compound tires. hehe.. is it allowed in SM in US??? i have
no idea becoz in Canada there is no STS, SM, etc class...

Damn.. AE86 with 4A-GZE is a fast car man.. 160HP with <900KG of
weight.. it would be pretty hard to beat in a heavy car like ours..
and the 510 is probably crazy fast with a 3.0 V6!! A local 510 here
has a SR20DE, its crazy fast...

But the Brighton must be pretty heavily moded.. with a mannual
compared to your auto and same engine as ur car..

Glad u had fun!! autoX is the best!

Just wondering, can't u run F/SS (says Subaru Turbo NOC) class? would
that class in less competitive?

I wish i had the money to do that, but i'm really not in it to win.

Now you can understand what i'm up against, and why i'm not too upset
when i'm placing low. The competition is just brutally good.

Alan's brighton is light, probably 2700lbs, and has an EJ22t running
~9PSI. It's not as fast as the STS imprezas we have here, but
they're the ones that go to regionals and take 6 of the 10 top spots
in STS, and have even taken 1st in Irvine.

I did think about reclassifying, but it'd feel like a cop-out.

I know how you feel, The 2 local Legacy rally cars (mine and Daves) were
beaten by more hp Celica and 323GTX in last weekends rally. I got to drive
a Eagle Talon home last night which has equal hp as the Celica and boy I
could feel the difference in hp. But his suspension sucked!
We still managed 4th over all (very bad tires for the race) but I want more
hp! I might have to do the upgrade in motor sooner then later...
