At 145k my rear diff started to leak at the pinion seal, now at 164k my
transmission is leaking at the tailshaft seal. Common? maybe, unusual? no.
You first need to determine where the fluid is leaking from, the rear diff
has four main seals: the pinion seal (where the driveshaft comes in) the
rear cover seal (what you see as you look from the rear of the car) and the
two half-shaft seals (which run out to both rear wheels).
