Wrong ECU ? [Update!]
Posted: Thu Sep 13, 2001 11:09 pm
Hey ! got some news about that trouble. Found the right ECU for my
car. 125$CDN at a big junkyard near Québec City
(http://www.pintendre.com). Made a bif difference in overall
acceleration and power of the car. I also changed the fuel filter and
PCV valve (3$... ) Had and exhaust manifold leak welded, reset the
ECU. BUT, even if i don't have the big hesitation i had before at low
rpms, I encounter a problem few times when starting from a steep
hill, and when starting from deep sand on a beach. Both times, i had
to (oh my god.. didnt like it..) rev it to ~3.5k rpms and awfully
make the clutch splîp at the same time to be able to clear from
there.
What could I check for ? I've looked for the IAC and couldnt find it
even with the illustration from Chilton. Could the Throttle position
sensor have something to do with that ? where it is located ?
Again, thanks for any advice
