Flashing Power Light???

Ok,

Here is a good one..

Started up the 91 after it had been parked here in the cold for a couple of weeks.

Car ran good - all the way to the gas station where I filled up.

On restart, the Auto transmission Power light flashed on and off about 5 or 6 times. Car was idling rough, as it can sometimes when it can't decide if it is cold or hot, but the car shifted fine, and I went a few blocks until my next errand.

When I turned it on again, the car was fine, smooth idle and no flashing tranny lights.

It may be related, but I am also having a dash light problem, ie, no dash lights, after driving for a bit they usually come on, and it was at the last restart that the dash lights came on.

Weird? Coincidence? What should I be looking for - and if anyone has had the same dash light problems, let me know I will be fixing them as the weather is warming up finally.... :D

Flashing power light is the same as the check engine light. In other words the TCU detected a fault in the transmission.

Ok.

So I have been driving the car all summer with out a problem.

Again, this morning, flashing power light.

When I go to check codes as per the instructions, no code was there - just flashing steadily.

Does it not like the new cold mornings?

My brother 1990 Legacy does it all the times, and when I bought my Sport Sedan, I was sure that it didn't flash at all...
