Q? top mount intercooler for 91 ej22t

I have a 91 legacy turbo and I was wondering if you can mount a top mount IC from a wrx or would it be easier to put in a front mount from a saab 900 or volvo 850 t5 thnxs

I have been told that they just won't fit. You should read the entire intercooler section to see what works.

The wrx intercoolers will fit with some modification to the intake from the turbo to the intercooler. Also, there's a chance that the clutch MC reservoir (if you have a 5spd will contact the intercooler. So you'll have to use an RS or WRX MC reservoir.
There are also some people on this board who've used a Saab 900 intercooler on their turbo legacies, although this will also need some fabrication of the intake tubing.
The only direct fit intercooler is an intercooler from a pre-97 STi, but those are hard to come by these days.
