camshaft sprocket timing.....

ok, so how do you know if the timing is off? say hypothetically, one
of the sprockets may have slipped a few degrees ahead while putting
the timing belt on. would the engine sound noticeably different? i
ask because i just replaced my belt and the crankshaft sprocket seal
and while i was putting the belt on i think the left(facing the car)
cam sprocket jumped a little ahead.
