roof deflector

the first thing i did after i got my car was remove that damn roof deflector, as it had carved a nice smily face into my roof.... why does subaru even put those there??? thats all they do and when you reach 75mph they vibrate and act like a DA sander on your roof.... anyone else do the same here?
