Hello,

yesterday my car Legacy turbo 2.0 ´94 , has started to warm up too
slowly, I ever thinked that the thermostat could fail to open but not
to close, some one know if all legacyes uses the same one or not, and
where is located? Must I buy one only for the legacy turbo or to any
legacy?

Regards,
Christian

I don't know if they all use the same one, probably not all the same one, because some engines have different heat ranges they operate at. So you need to get one for your specified heat range. As far as where they are at. It is on the bottom side of engine on the drivers side (US Spec) Not sure if it would passenger side for RHD cars. Anyway it's the bottom radiator hose and the housing it hooks up to. Take the housing off by loosening the two bolts and you can take the lower radiator hose off too if you want. You can get the thermostat from your local subie dealer, which I would recommend over one you get at a parts store. If you do this yourself, you will need to "burp" the radiator of air. There is a small square headed black screw on the opposite side of the filler cap. Loosen this while you are burping the system for air. If you don't, you won't get all the air out.

hope that helps

Josh
