Forged Pistons - Thanks for the Welcome

Jason,

Thanks for the welcome. I really like these engines and its great to
find a group focused on the 2.2L which most of our group have
installed.

I have found the airplane guys doing some interesting research. They
seem to be more of "bucks-up" crownd than the members of my group.

One of my particular interests is in superchargers....don't care for
all that turbo heat in our small engine bay... but, so far, they're
hard to come by for a 2.2L, only found two available, and they are
wildly expensive for most of our group (about $3,000), who have
usually paid less than $1000 for their engine.

Some in our group have satisfied power lust with the 3.3L, (three
installed so far)and I'm shopping for one of the new 3.0L H-6
engines, which is almost as powerful and more compact (shorter and
lighter). But my local dealer says only 2 of 10 Outbacks going out
the door has the H-6. Haven't found a smacked-up one yet.

Thanks again...

Hope someone out there can come up with a stock 2.2L performance
graph for me.

Warren Chapman

Hi Warren,
I remember you from the van board I just worked on a Legacy with a
3.3 SVX engine and it had a supercharger I say had because we removed
it. The Engine managment was having a hard time of it and it was very
noisy. It came out of a Mazda Millinea and was a whipple type
supercharger. When it was ithe Mazda it had a large cover over the
engine that probably kept it quiet.AL(CO)
