intercoolers + turbos for Todd

Hey Todd,
Saw your inquiry about WRX coolers on a Legacy
I think the most important aspect of adapting a WRX cooler to a US spec Legacy is the "clocking" of the Legacy turbo, which is upward at about a 45 degree angle.
The WRX cooler intake from the turbo is made to accept a horizontal turbo outlet
like this turbo out O=O cooler in
but we have this turbo out O//O cooler in
So the turbo outlet points up over the cooler inlet and you have to do some fancy ducting or cutting to make it work. Unless you can reclock the turbo, and seems like I heard if you do that it throws something else off like the wastegate linkage or something.
Another solution is to get another turbo with a horizontal outlet, and If you're going for any kind of power over a couple hundred ponies, the little US turbo will be out of breath anyway, so you're going to be looking at some kind of upgrade in either case.
