AT/MT from RS Swap. Speedometer Question

I'm in the midst of a Transmission swap in my '92 Legacy. I am removing a broken automatic and replacing it with a 5-spd manual transmission from a '98 Impreza RS. I noticed that the Impreza tranny seems to have a electronic speed sensor, while the Legacy's tranny has a mechanical speed sensor. Is there a remedy for this? I assume I can send my gauge cluster out to a speedometer shop to have it converted.. or perhaps there is a newer gauge cluster I can use?
Please check out the link below to follow my progress...

Thanks in Advance!

It may be a little more complicated than that... I think in our cars the ECU senses vehicle speed through a sensor built into the gauge cluster; that conversion would also need to happen, or you may be able to use the signal from the transmission directly.
I didn't know newer Subarus had the VSS electronics directly on the transmission.

Not seeing yours directly, my swap was as easy as removing the electronic sender and screwing the mechanical line it its place. This was from a 1990 legacy auto to a 1995 impreza auto.

Ciper: Thanks, I'll try that today. I hope to drive it home today or tomorrow.

I know this doesn't help you but I know they make a module that plugs in series with a speedo cable and puts out a VSS pulse (vehicle speed sensor) I used to use these when installing GPS systems in later modle cars without a VSS wire.
Just some info

I am aware of this.. but I am trying to accomplish the opposite. I tried what Ciper suggested and it seems to have worked. I have to wait until the install is complete to test it. I'm waiting on a new driveshaft. I thought I could use the driveshaft that matches the RS 5-spd, but apparentely the RS and Legacy's wheelbase is different.
