I was wondering if the coilover kit for a 93-01 impreza would work
for a 1991 legacy sport turbo? they are a ground control type.

They should, but unless you can get them for a steal, buy the GC ones
because we know the work, that the quality is good and that if they
don't work right, there's someone in the US that can remedy that.

How do these coilovers work. I see they are a threaded sleeve, do you
put that on your standard struts? (or for example kyb's for a legacy?)
And the plate at the top holds them on the strut top?

How do these perform?? i might get some made up over here if it's
that easy!!!

Thanks for any replies, much appreciated.

George-from what I understand, they mount the same. One of our members (Dave, I believe) installed Teins on his wagon. He can now run a 225 wide tire where the rest of us are pretty restricted. After my new engine goes in, coilovers are the next project. I plan on running 16 or 17" rims with about a 225/50 tire. With an 18mm rear sway bar, STI suspension bushings, etc., it`ll handle way above my driving abilities. Then, driving school (it never ends if you`re as anal as I am!!!)---ROD (AZ.)

These just replace the springs in a normal spring/strut setup.
They're used commonly with the KYB AGX, and do a respectable
job.

Many people trim the spring perch on the strut because only the
smallest inner section is needed for support. This allows for
more wheel/tire clearance and the ability to lower the car more.

They should work just fine if they're meant for an Impreza, but the
spring rates might be a little off.

One more Question.... anyone know where i could see some pics of the
base of the sleeve?? Or just some pics of the coilovers from
different angles. It will simplify the making of them! :)

I need to see what/if any grooves or anything are in place on the
sleeve. What stops it from rotating when turning the adjustment nuts?
Thanks again
