I think a straight bolt up with no stress Intercooler setup is a great idea!
And the turbo isn't a bad idea either.

92-94 Legacy Sport Sedan's with 5 speed manual
trannys. In good condition. Haha.

No seriously, maybe an intercooler setup or something
along that line.

Intercooler interest? What type of intercooler air to air or air to
water? ( I have and recommend air to water) but this is $$. We have
the capabiity to do short runs and have built custom versions of both
types.

I think that a small, TMIC kit, A/A, would generate a good deal of
interest. Most people need something that's not too extreme, fits
right under the Turbo hood scoop, is basically bolt in on both sides
and can hook to the stock airbox.

I would be very interested in something like this, even paying a
premium for R&D on the project. Not $2500 expensive, but maybe $500
or so, if it can be done.

Let us know what you can do!

I`m interested in an air-to-air set-up (I plan to build a custom water sprayer for it, also), but would be interested in ANY IC possibilities right now. I still have to get a turbo hood first. Ahhhhhh.......it never ends, does it???? ROCKET ROD

A/A IC PLEASE!!!

I'm also interested in this bit. W/A is great, but I
can't see forking out ~1/3 the cars value for an IC.
But a good, inexpensive A/A would be great.

Hi Brian, well the terms good and inexpensive are kind of mutually
exclusive and getting worse as we have been told that we will be
paying more for the bare cores for both IC's so when I asked about
this we came up with a rough estimate of $800 for A/A and about twice
that for A/W. I would recommend the A/W because of what we have found
on the WRX and that is that on a fairly warm day a stop at a traffic
light will give the A/A a heat soak that will raise the first air out
on acceration to about 300 degrees and we think that they are pulling
the timing back in low and possibly second gear because of this and
this explains why a complaint of being "doggy" on the low end is
valid for the WRX. These IC's are good and were called the best by
Turbo magazine when they were tested under another brand name as part
of a turbo kit.

I should have my '92 Turbo Legacy Sedan in two weeks (its being delivered from NJ). So I'm on the market for some performance parts as well. A bolt-on IC? Hell yeah! I think i'd be willing to pay $800 for a good one. With a good IC (im new to turbos) I should be able to increase boost with a boost controller to a higher PSI without premature detonation, correct?
