Re: Throttle Body Spacer?

I don't know that phenolic spacers would help but if they do I'd focus on intake manifold spacers rather than the tiny throttle body.

Have you bypassed the coolant lines that run through the throttle body to heat it yet?

Re: FS/FT/WTB (NY): 1994 Turbo wagon parts

You misunderstood. I HAVE a David Carter Fiberglass hood (but meant for 90-91). Mine came with "vents" molded in place out of solid fiberglass. It looks as if you cut them out and replced it will real vents from an RS? Thanks about the ABS pump. Its nice to have an extra one. If you need I...

Re: how do you get the timing belt on? TOO TIGHT.

Sanity check - Are both cams lightly clamped with vice grip and you took up the slack on both cams going in opposite direction (tightening cylinder 2/4, loosening cylinder 1/3)? Is the pin still fully inserted on the tensioner (including the hole you cannot see) and the bolts are loose enough for it...

Re: FS/FT/WTB (NY): 1994 Turbo wagon parts

I LOVE what you did with the hood vents. Does a thread exist showing how you did it? I have one of these hoods in my shed :) I would like the ABS unit. It's dirty as hell but I assume its the Bosch unit and not the Nippon one? Can you check your mudflaps to see if the front Subaru letters are black ...

Re: Fresh seafoam. now cant boost.

I bet its the MAP sensor. Somehow its not connected or leaking. The turbo Legacy I bought about a month ago had the exact same thing (absoulutely no power when using more than a small amount of throttle) and it was a disconnected hose to the map sensor. I always use the purge solenoid hose when intr...

Re: how do you get the timing belt on? TOO TIGHT.

I should add that once you have the belt and pulleys all installed and BEFORE you pull the grenade pin or tighten the tensioner bolts use a prybar to force the tensioner all the way towards the crank. While holding it in that position tighten the bolts then finally release the pin.

Re: Compiled brake information

If any of you have upgraded to the newer style rear caliper/d770 pad you can do the "h6" upgrade for under 100$ That would mean the rear caliper from all the 99+ Subarus I would imagine. http://i40.tinypic.com/28gxg9k.jpg My research says the following RockAuto part numbers match the Subar...

Someone should grab turbo racks from the junkyard and use these steps to build "new" ones which can then be sold to other members.

I just did my timing belt two a couple days ago and was able to install it with all the pulleys installed. My "Tricks" are as follows - Mark the starting point of the belt then count the appropriate number of teeth to both sides. Leave the two 12mm bolts holding the tensioner loose. Put th...

Find an LSD for the rear. Since you have converted to the new axle style it will be fairly easy.

Re: High Idle trouble (91 5mt turbo sedan)

Today I took a 400 mile drive. After about 60 miles I noticed my idle was at around 1100. It settled down eventually so I thought nothing of it. 100 miles later it was at 1500 so I looked around under the hood and thought "the idle screw seems higher, I must be crazy." 100 more miles and n...

ECU always storing a code for every sensor. No CEL. Confused

I tried using the connectors under the dash but it still had numerous codes stored. I then disconnected the battery for a while and here is what happens - Reconnect battery terminal (key is not in ignition) Connect the connector under dash to flash codes Turn key to ON but not started It will then f...

Please consider updating the picture to note that hose J has a pill inside, part number 22326AA090 I think?

I used that diagram to replace my hoses and only found out accidentally that J was special. Luckily I had not thrown it away yet.

Looks like the transmission from a 92 turbo. Think of it as being similar to any other regular phase 1 WRX transmission but with gear ratios as follows
3.545
1.947
1.366
0.972
0.738
Reverse 3.416
Final drive 3.9:1

Re: Turbo Water pump part numbers for both styles + outlet h

70948 is a small 90 degree bent hose and is not needed if you have no oil cooler and the water pump with only two nipples. Both ends must be trimmed. The side touching the water pump has to be extra short in order to clear the oil pump. You have to cut both ends off the lower drivers side hose. Belo...

How did you deal with the steering linkage? Did the original one have enough length in it or did you have to use the forester one?
Are your radiator hoses at an ok angle since the engine is lower?
