Looks like I'll have to be careful from now on. That's really a smart move on the hp though. Why not have a car that is versatile all year round in the mountains. Hope he stays away from the dirt. We ran from a sheriff the other day in the mountains. Found some heavy fog and pulled onto a side road ...

Actually I just double checked because as I was writing that last night I started thinking that it was actually 2212 and using the multiplier that matched what you had. I think I got the 2197 from a late night getting my car ready. I alway just put 2200 which gives an exact match for Production limi...

I really hope this is wrong but I've been told that the material that most bolt in roll cages are made out of is going to be obsolete via the 2004 rules. My Colt has a Safety Devices bolt in cage and I took it in to Brian Moody, a local Pro guy and race car builder and he told me that they were chan...

Are there any "rules of thumb" so to say about diameter of tubing with respect to turbo size. I have a relatively small but quick spooling turbo. The boost gauge in the car says aroun 11-12 psi currently. The current intake piping is only maybe 1" at the smallest and 1.5" at the ...

When it's licensed in my home state of Wyoming. When you have very few people and lots of space and have people who don't like the gov. telling them what to do you end up with no emmissions laws. Most rally cars have to be street legal anyhow I believe. :D It's actually passed CO emmissions though i...

There is a power and economy setting that is adjusted by an additional lever next to the shifter. There are two ratios for every gear. It's very similar to the high low in old Subies but is geared for street driving not for off road like in the old Subies. It's kind of interesting. Makes for fun hig...

Yeah it's the 8 speed. It's a blast to drive. It's putting out around 180 whp and weighs around 2000 lbs. Super quick. It has Bilstein's all around. Need a new front strut. I'm getting the front two rebuilt here pretty soon. I had not seen turbododge.com but I'm definitely heading over there next. I...

My new rally car!

So here's some pictures of my new rally car. I decided not to build my Legacy into a rally car. I figured this way I can still drive the Legacy everyday and beat the crap out of this car. It's a 1984 Dodge Colt GTS Turbo. It's a G5 car and has a history. It was first built back around 1990 and has s...

It's all currently wrapped now, all the piping and the exhaust manifold. The setup I have planned will be really cool (in both ways, temp and style) and allow much more flow. This car was built to rally in the early 90s and there doesn't appear to have been much consideration to flow amount taken in...

Tubing issues Turbo to IC, IC to manifold

Okay need to run some new tubing for my Colt Rally car from turbo to ic to intake manifold. Any recommendations for Silicone Tubing vs. Aluminum tubing? Also how do you join the silicone tubing if making a custom set of pipes. Mine will end up being pretty complicated and would cost a ton to have so...

I wouldn't pay more than $3000 for it. That is what I would consider a fair price. It would have to have around 70-100K and be in mint condition to be considered worth $5000 in my opinion. The numbers are very low for Subaru's production of these, however I don't think they are as low as most places...

I'm looking at the picture of the WRX one and can't figure out where it would go in a WRX based upon my knowledge of the car. IMO the two best spots in a Legacy Rally Car is in the middle of the back seat area or in the hole that holds the spare usually. This way you maintain a better balance of the...

Remember that a 92 Sport Sedan Retailed for $20149 whereas a WRX retail for around $24525, for a difference of a little over $4000. On a 60 month payment plan at 3.9% that's around $100 more per month for a grand total of 6K more over the 60 months. It's the jump from $400/mo. to $500/mo. that gets ...

Found something really cool the other day

So I'm scouring the Denver area trying to come up with a Legacy turbo 5MT for a reasonable price (not $7000) and came upon something really cool. The city and county of Denver holds an auction every two weeks and auctions off all of the cars that they have impounded for more than 30 days. They gener...

I know when the new Forester came out Subaru went around the country with a bunch of cars and held what they called a ride and drive.
