Boost Gauge decisions

Post by gt2.5turbo »

Ive searched some on the different kinds of boost gauges everyone is using and it is next on my "to purchase list." I was just wondering:

out of all the different gauges which ones are recommend and which ones to steer clear of...

Thanks for the input

I would stay away from any cheap ebay ones, faze, sunpro any of that crap. Depends on what you want to spend, electronic is best, but mechanical is less than half the price. I would go with a GReddy or HKS one personally.

I went with an Autometer one, because they are a fairly large manufacturer, and stand behind their products.

On top of that, they're cheap and readily available.

Have GReddy, will travel.

I have a GReddy boost gauge at home actually. Don't have a turbo car though, so i don't need it. Will sell for $40.

Damn, I would have jumped at the Greddy one. I have an Autometer Phantom boost gauge and its been good so far. Alot of people seem to agree.

I had a Blitz DC2TT with the boost gauge built in. It was ok. I would suggest something that reads in PSI not HkPa.

I've got an Autometer Phantom in the Legacy (was originally in the RS (back when I was planning to turbo the RS...and now I'm thinking about doing so again) as it's white faced, but it's in the Legacy temporarily until I figure out a more permanent mounting method and buy a black-faced gauge for it) and I've got a VDO in the RX and both work very well (the VDO is cheaper, but the Autometer came with all the various vacuum line hardware that you have to buy separately if you get the VDO).
