2.5rs springs on Legacy Wagon

Post by THA Roux »

Hi!
I'd like to know if a set of spring out of a 2001 impreza 2.5rs could fit on my 1995 Legacy wagon's stock struts...

I just hope it could drop the car a little and improve handling....

Am I right...... or wrong? :???:

thanks!

according to the suspension information compendium, they should fit, but i bet the rear will sag a little. i would use the fronts and not the rears and see how it rides

actually you might need a different front perch. i dunno

Swap from a 2001 2.5rs?

Post by NuclearBacon »

To continue on this post, my friend has a 98 legacy L Wagon, and we took Lowering struts (shock and springs) off of a 2001 2.5 RS.

The question is can we replace the legacy stock suspension, with the adjustible height suspension from the impreza.

Will the lowering suspension have to be at its highest for the rear?

Would the rear just not work?

is this a direct bolt on? or are the "caps" ive been reading about needed? (replaced with a new set from another car)

(i also own a 92 touring wagon, and wonder about the same swap)

Any input?

thanks!

Why???

Why not just buy a set of springs made for your car???

They said they "took" them. Maybe they didnt pay for them? Which IS much cheaper than "buying" a set made for his car. Or maybe he thought he could ask a question and get an anwser, or at least some helpful input.

My friends mom purchased a 2.5RS with a lot of mods on it.

Here's a suggestion...

Do it yourself and let us know how it goes. Then you can do a write up on it with pictures if it works. If it doesn't please let us know as well so when some NooB does a search (which they never do) we can point them towards this thread and they will have the answer they so desire.
