I got the call today that I didn't want to hear....
My baby once was lost but now she's found.
Here is whats missing:
Rims (we all knew that was going to happen)
Hedlights
Engine
Tranny
Rear diff
hub assemblys
ECU
In-dash DVD minus the face obviously
My XM SkyFi2 w/remote and antenna
Front seats
Guess where they found her.....give up?
Less than a mile from where Mudfest took place in a field. GRRRRR!!!
You can bet your bottom dollar I will be at every event that takes place at that field looking for EJ22 powered buggies.
What should I do now that she is found?

1991 Legacy BJ L 5MT AWD 189K Paid $100 STOLEN 2/13/06
Wow, I've heard of picked over but damn they cleaned her out good. And that's not something that only took a few to do, sorry you didn't catch them in the act...
The question you have to ask yourself if you decide to rebuild is just how money and time are you willing to invest. By the time you replace everything they took off you'll have a practically new 91 BJ 5MT. If you do decide to do this then you have to look at the fact that these assholes did half the work for you in getting the old stuff off. And that's where the hard part and knuckle busting is. I mean realistically, you'd have new hubs/wheel bearings all around, new engine, new tranny, new diffs, new clutch, new rims (F'n pricks...), half new interior, and you could easily put in new struts/tophats while you're at it, along with any of the suspension for that matter. That'd just leave things like CV's, belts and steering stuff that could go bad on you. You'd have a car that'd last you years and you know inside and out.
However... that wouldn't be cheap nor quick.
How much do you want your 5mt 91 BJ?
I voted for sending her to the meadow though.

Unreal. Lazy worthless losers could've just bought their own for a few hundred bucks. Dicks. I hope they get caught 'cause just their court fees and shit would cost more than a used parts-car Legacy. I'd take the insurance money and get another. Maybe you could take a few other parts off it to have on hand/sell (if anything's left). Too bad there's no easy way to ID an engine.

D'oh! Sorry, MA forces insurance on us and theft/flood/vandalism is dirt cheap (compared to what they make you pay anyway) so most people get it. Wasn't thinking in terms of other states. Well, I hope there was some kind of insurance ... What about under a home owner's policy since it was stolen from your house?

Hate to say it though Greg, this is one reason why I'd be afraid to put ICE in my cars...

That's fucking weak. I mean, I want to say I'm glad you got your car back, but what the hell - they took everything useful from it.
