Help!! My SS is being wacko...

Post by 555BCTurbo »

Ok...so I have been battling my Legacy for a few weeks now...

It runs...but not very well...

It started out with seemingly an ignition miss...so I replaced:

-Injectors (took my 440's out and put my good 370's back in)

-TPS

-Crank Angle Sensor

-Coil Pack

-Ignitor

-Spark Plugs

-Fuel Filter

-Checked compression (150 in all four)

Now, it runs worse

It idles fine, but anytime off boost, it has no power and stumbles...

If you hold the throttle at a given position, the engine will rev, and then start to sputter and slow down.

Also, my wideband 02 reads full lean when cruising, but 14.5-14.7 when idling...so I don't really understand why that is...

Anyway, any help is much appreciated!!!

Do you have anyway to test the fuel pressure and the fuel pressure regulator?
There are three kinds of people in the world, those who can count and those who can't.

That might be a good idea...I should get a fuel pressure gauge...

You suppose that the FPR is not advancing pressure enough down low, and is causing the lean AFR's?

I replaced it about 1.5 years ago with a new dealer one...and it doesn't seem to be temp related...but do you still think it could be?!

Oh...and were you able to happen upon some SMT6 pinouts by chance ?! :D

Could be Knock Sensor, or as simple as your oxygen sensor. Sounds like what mine did when it acted all funky.

sounds like my car when it was acting up. It was the o2 sensor in our case. We just unplugged it, and it worked fine!
