steelies or Alloys for Rallycross

Post by atvtrailrider »

I found me some used 15" 195/60 R15 snow tires non-studded for the 90 legacy Rallycross car.

The question is will stock 15" alloys hold up ok? it seems I can find them for about the same price used as some steel wheels and I would think they will be lighter.

OEM alloys are stronger and usually lighter than steelies.

i have used both steel and alloy wheels with little issue
the alloys will bend and in some cases break, while the steel wheels tend to just bend
get the best you can afford

as the cash flow gets better so can the equipment

Steelies will flex under hard use, also.

big pro for alloys is they help dissipate the heat from the brakes
