I have a 1990 legacy 2.2 that sometimes has a load pinging noise sometimes when I first start it and other times after it has run for a while then for no reason it stops making the noise.It does it while Idleing or going down the road.Its only from the right side head. HELP

Wanted to let you know the tranny control unit worked,made a BIG difference. THANK YOU for your help.JIMvrg3 wrote:31711AB080 is a valid replacement for 31711AA363, so yes, it'll work just fine.

control unit question
I have a1990 legacy wagon AT/tranny and want to know if a 1991 AT/tranny control unit will work on my car? part # on my 90 is 31711AA363 and the 91 is 31711AB080 .connectors look the same but was afraid to try it. THANKS

AFAIK the speed sensor is on the back of the speedometer gauge and you'd need to pull the dash to get to it. Is the speed sensor part of the cluster where the speedometer cable goes in. ALSO what is the box under to cluster by the steering column? It's about 5inch by7 inch and 1 1/2 inch thick with...

speed sensor location 1990 legacy
I'm trying to find the speed sensor.Either my Haynes book is wrong or I'm Blind. Also if it was bad would it cause the Auto trans. not to shift to low when I come to a complete stop.After I stop it will not start off in low unless I shift it to 1st. THANKS
