A post to conclude this. The rear case of the AT was removed, and the clutches were looking fine. Next step was to investigate in the software that steers the central diff. And yes, after hours of reading and searching the problem was found: a faulty throttle positioning sensor. Exchanged it for ano...

Thank you all for your reactions. So, I put in the fuse, there's a FWD light on the dashboard I've never seen before and yes, no more shudder / troubles. The car drives very normal in FWD mode. Although I can feel the steering is a bit different as compared to running AWD. The trans fluid is clear, ...

Reason why I think it is the central "differential" is because of the change in behaviour when the engine / tranmission is cold or warm / hot. When cold, there is NO problem with the car. Runs smoothly, picks up speed fine, no rumble in the corners. If the engine (transmission) is hot, it ...

Auto center diff

I think the center differential on my 93 auto Wagon is broken. Anybody knows where to find a replacement? Are all the center diffs in auto transmissions the same (1.8 litre, 2 litre, I have a 2.2 litre)? Up to what year? Is it used in other (Legacy 2) transmissions as well? I could not find much inf...

Dion, welcome to the BBS :) Thanks. I've been here before and got some help, asking things about the heater / AC system. The leaking heater matrix on my car has been replaced since, without having to disturb the AC system. The thing is that the Sub behaves just too good to be in touch much in forum...

what are you using your car for? It is my "modern" car. As a backup for the other cars, for getting stuff from the DIY, as a tow car for the caravan, as a tow car for trailers with cars, as a winter vehicle, as the car for going the Alpes for skiing holidays, for transporting a new bicycl...

Why? Because it has the possibility of a bigger ride height, which is useful with packs of snow; Because it self levels when having a heavy load; Because it seems to have a smoother ride, Because the back does not drop when towing a heavy something Because I would like to keep my Legacy original wit...

92 GX Air suspension info

I want to find out how the air suspension works. I have downloaded an online manual for a 92 Legacy, but of course the pages describing the air suspension have been left out! (Section 4 M3, C2, X, T2,3,4,7) Does anyone know of a description online or has the missing pages? Instead of what everyone i...

leaking heater

Must be a heater leak: bad coolant-smell through the vents when the heater is past the cold section. And the coolant level is dropping slowly - not fast. Q: can the heater radiator be replaced by itself? Or can only the combined evaporator / heater unit be replaced? I am asking because someone offer...
