Help dropping tranny
'91 Legacy Wagon, all wheel drive automatic 4eat. Trying to drop the tranny. Having trouble accessing the four (4) drive plate to torque converter bolts. I've taken the timing access cover off and can see the bolts. 12mm wrench slips and 11mm wrench won't fit on it. Can't get a socket onto the bolts...

Sorry, thought I put everything in the post. (late night post) The transmission is fulltime allwheel drive (4wd).
188,468 miles but the last 100 miles or so have been in question. Bought the car used and it has evidence of being wrecked. Otherwise it has been a terrific car.

:?: Have a 1991 Legacy wagon, nonturbo, 4eat. Not sure of the ratio yet. Trannie is bad: lost reverse unless gunning the motor and then only 1-2 mph; starts out in 1st then hangs as the rpm's increase then eventually slams into 3rd; changed fluid and filter without solving the problem.
