Legacy GT Sideskirts on 1st gen Legacy

Post by LegacyT »

Will Legacy GT sideskirts fit 1st gen legacys, 90-94 models? Are the rocker panels the same length or different, and if so, does anyone know by how much? I want to put them on my 91 legacy Turbo.

Thanks,
Mark

yeah, I'd like to see that also!!
You CANNOT take a 90 degree turn turn at 65 in your turbosedan, no matter what mods you have. I have the pictures to prove it. :(

I tried puting an aftermarket sideskirt designed for a 2nd gen on my bc legacy. It was about 6 in. too long.

Whoa! really? I though the wheelbase was virtually the same. That would mean then that Impreza RS skirts should be about the right size, right?

My friend is coming over tonight and he owns an RS sedan. I'll pull the cars side by side and let you know (unless he lets me pull off the sideskirts; that would be even better!!!).

Yeah! if you could do that that would be sweet! I guess you could just measure it with a tape measure of something.

Thanks,

I never even thought of that. My g/f has a '00 RS sedan. I guess I could've checked a while ago too. If someone doesn't get it done in the next few days, let me know and I can check the fitment.

I measured the new gen WRX Sideskirts. They are a perfect match in length. Our rocker panels are 71" and so are those skirts. But I still have to see if RS skirts will fit. I do like those more.

*bump* I have to ask...any progress on rs or wrx sideskirts? I have seen some pictures of 1st gen legacies (wagens) in europe with side skirts, and they are so very nice, my old 2.5 GT had them, I really really want some for my turbo, I'm gonna have to check this out myself!
Thanks

So has anyone measured the wrx and legacy BC/BF? I went and checked the other day and legacy wagon and sedans are the same length wheelbase, so the 94 legacy GT/GX's (did any others have skirts) skirts will almost definately fit turbo sedans. I think the later legacy/impreza and WRX skirts are more agressive looking, but I think I will just go with the early ones that I know will fit, and there are many many around here, so it shouldn't be a problem for me to find a pair. I actually drive almost every day past a GX wagon that has them...and they are actually about to fall off!!! They are only attached at the ends, the middle connectors are gone. Its so hard to restrain myself from doing a midnight mission and just taking them. I think I am going to leave the person a note and see if they will sell them for 50$.
Thanks
