car starting problem

something funny has been going on. when i turn the key to start the car it doesnt turn over. i turn it all the way and it just clicks once and all the accories turn on. the car doesnt turn over. sometimes if i try again it will start. sometime i have to try mutiple times. yesterday i was pulling out of the bank and blew off a intercooler pipe/couppler. after i fixed it it took about 5 minites to get it to turn over.

is it a starter problem an ignition problem or a battery problem. there is some corosion on the positive terminal and the negative is exposed but all of the conectons are tight. it still starts fairly well most of the time but its starting to take more than one turn of the key to the start position to get it to start. its really frustrating and i want to get it taken care of before it doesnt start at all

how do i fix it, where are they located, is it a simple task, what parts exactly.

Clean the contacts first and make sure the battery has a full charge, but it likely is solenoid. You can whack it with a hammer short term if the car doesn't want to start and start looking for hills to park on if you have a manual. The solenoid is the cylinder attached to the starter body and is easy to get at with a hammer. You can take the starter apart and try to see if you can clean it up or get a new starter. The most common failure is the solenoid.
