Has anyone played it? I was thinking about buying it, but was wondering if it was any good.

I assume you're talking about a PC version? I haven't played it and frankly, didn't know it existed. I may have to try to find a copy as the last Colin McRae I played (2 I think) kicked ass.

I played an Xbox version, might have been CMR 04. Kicked ass, very fun.
Biggest problem with it was the clipping. The bushes effectively stop you like the tree trunks. This only really gets annoying on stages where the bushes encroach on the road surface.

CMR04 was really good, a huge step up from 2, and a nice upgrade from 3, which i only played a few times. 05 adds a LOT more racing and may double the number of cars available, while improving graphics as well.

Some bushes are like concrete, but it's more the exception than the rule. I still like the CMR series more than the alternatives, though i haven't tried the newer WRC games.

05 is sweet, I absalutally suck in career mode but it's fun and not nearly as hardcore as Richard Burns Rally so for the recreational rally gamer it's good
