Yep, all my hesitation problems seem to have been a bad connection to my AWIC. I replace plugs, plug wires, battery, battery connections and messed extensively with my MAF, even removing it for the final track session today at PIR. I ran the track for 15 minutes at a whole whopping 1 psi.
Then I drove back to the shop and FINALLY found the damn leak. Fixed it and Wham Bam THank you Mam, wow, major power. So much power I finally started detonation. Bleah. Had to drive back to the shop to pour more 100 octane in. Now all power and no det.
Wish I had found this problem yesterday.

No, I had three crappy sessions where the car would barely run, one half ass session and then when I unplugged the MAF I had a decent session but was running pig rich and only 1 psi becaues it was all leaking out at the lower intake of the AWIC. I had "fixed" this connection ealier but had bent/crimped the hose band underneath and behind so you could only feel the problem, not see it.
The detonation sound like you have tiny rocks in you exhaust. NEVER EVER keep going on boost if you hear them. I have. I also have a piston with a hole in it and no ring lands. Ewwww.
And that leads to another question which I shall now post.

Pretty noticable, but if you arent paying attention you will miss it because it just sounds like rocks on your exhaust. \
Its gone now finally. I think the ECU just had to get used to lower octane fuel again.

How do you "unplug" your MAF? Doesn't the car stall as soon as you unplug it?

I had a very similar problem with the TMIC on my 93. It became louder, ran worse, stumbled and was simply frustrating.
The TMIC had cracked when banging against the front strut bar, opening a nice crack. I swapped in the stock turbo->throttle body pipe and it ran like a champ again.

IF the car is running and you unplug the MAF, then it dies. If the car is off and you unplug the MAF and then start it, it runs WAY rich, but runs fine, or at least mine did. Just watch the gas gauge drop though! Wow.
