How many cars are too many (realistically)

Post by dscoobydoo »

Ok, between the GF and I, we have 4 cars. I was thinking of getting a newer truck because my winter beater has 214,000 on the chassis. ( but about 10,000 on the tranny and 60,000 on the engine)

But I ran across this nice cherry 93 SS ( sadly, autotragic)

Hell, I could get the SS for 3000 and use it for a winter car ( and keep the truck for misc stuff.)

BUT DO I REALLY NEED 5 CARS???? I was thinking of trading my truck in on an 02 Tacoma or Tundra.

Here's what is in the stable:

01 Impreza RS 2dr
96 Nissan Maxima
93 SS manual
87 GMC S-15 (Camaro engine) 4X4

Tell me what you think???
Yes I have too many Subarus
No you can't have one
05 GD-STI
01- RS- Swapped-07 STI
00- GF
93 SS- "the original Robtune" (now in new hands)

Whatever makes you happy, i guess.

$3k for a 93SS with an automatic? Hope it has low miles and is very nice otherwise.

I see 4 cars for the stable. 2 dailies. 1 fun car/backup. 1 truck for truck stuff.

And the truck can double as a backup if necessary.

^^ Werd. I'm with William on that one. 5 isn't too bad as long as they all run, and you use them all, right? The only thing I'd be concerned about is theft and space, but not necessarily in that order. Since you're eastern WA, though, I'm pretty sure space isn't the biggest concern.
Go for it! And don't knock the autos.. they're fun to drive!

Yeah it totally depends on space and how much you use it. I'd be fucked right now if I didn't have two, but then again I wouldn't be in the situation if I didn't have two...

I'm going to hold myself to 10 if I ever have to worry about it.

12 is my max.

I've owned 3 cars at once, now I just own the SS. Soon I'll own 2. Daily and Project/winter.

Too many is more in the yard than in the garage(s).

No, that's too small a garage!

You could get a bigger garage, or multiple garages like a separate shop building. Or if you fall ass-backwards into money, multiple hangers like Leno.

you can never have enough cars as long as they all run.

and screw hangers. do it up big like the sultan of bruni. his garage rivals the parking structure at LAX. and thats not including his museum of F1 cars
