Good games for Nintendo 64? I bought one cheap...

Post by legacycontinues »

I bought a used nintendo 64 at a garage sale today and I was wondering if anyone ever had one and if so was there any games they like to play? Anythnig you would recomend?

I was looking on ebay and found alot of this game called "perfect dark" it is a shooter game and comes with an expansion pack. I bid on "a bugs life" for my son because he likes those movies.

I know it's not a PS2 but it was cheap and I can't see spending $150 on a video game system at this point in my life. I have a PSX but I do not have any controlers/ cables or games for it. If anyone has some (games for either system or cables/controlers for PSX) they would like to sell I am interested.

I think Pebble Beach golf was an N64 game, that was pretty fun too but Goldeneye and PD were the best prolly. Mario 64 was also pretty cool. Oh, I know, the wretling game on the N64 was bad ass too. I'm not sure what it was called but I think it was the one right before Smackdown came out. The four player mode was awesome.

Yeah, GoldenEye. That's the most modern video game I can play. I don't like 4-player mode because the framerate drops so much and the resolution in each viewport is so low (and also because I'm not good at it), but 2-player is great. I love playing with two controllers, too.

Ya Golden Eye is a must have. Perfect Dark is a really good multi player Shooter, way better then Golden Eye because there is bots. The single player is good but not as good as Golden Eye.

Zelda, Ocarina of Time- Badass game. I've actually been playing it lately.
Zelda, Majores mask (sp?)

Mario 64, Come on, you have to have it.
Mario Kart 64 , a lot more fun then you might think. Best played with friends though.

WWF games, they're all the same but fun.

The Star Wars games. Rebel Assualt, X-wing ect...

Ridge Racer

VW Bug Challange, another one that's a lot more fun with friends.

That's some of the good ones, I know there's many more but I can't think of them just now. I actually have two N64's. :)

Playing with 2 controllers = Kicking the other guys ass while he just stands there doing nothing?

I used to do that on MK3 back in the day.

No, there's a control mode where you hold one controller in each hand. That way you have analog controls for walking, turning, strafing, and looking up and down.

I think there is a controller setup in single player mode that utilizes two controllers...

Goldeneye 007- definitely
Mariokart 64
Mario 64- Just cuz u have to have the mario game for any nintendo
Starfox 64- I liked it (it was real easy though)
Waverace- Fun jetski racing game

The only bad thing about Perfect Dark was that you needed a controller pak AND a memory expansion which still run at around $40 usd.
