Noob Question

Post by internetautomart »

what motors will fit without any changes whatsoever.
Basically just bolt and go.
Eventually I'll probably do a turbo swap, but for now I need it running.

lol- all EJ series engines bolt in, but none are bolt in and go.

Wiring, and computers are where the issues come in.

You can't just take a NA legacy, bolt in a turbo engine and expect the computer and wiring to just match up and work.

Check out the nabisco forum on conversions- That is a good place for information

LOL I was referring to swapping in an NA for now.
Later on doing a turbo.
so what if any NA EJs will swap in with no problems (I.E. no swapping manifolds, sensors etc.)

Just the EJ22E, maybe the EJ18 but that would be awful in a Legacy. The EJ22 is the only one that you would want and was OBD I, EJ25s and EJ20Ts were OBD II so no bolt in there, the EJ22T won;t be bolt in either. So basically any NA legacy EJ22 is what you want.

Most of the blocks will swap in just fine if you use your heads and accessories.
