258 thousand?? and a few more things

Post by corsair »

Yesterday my car hit 258,000 miles on the way to practice!

Later that day a friend of mine with a mid-late 70's Firebird Formula and I had a little top gear acceleration race on Route 15 (it was remotely clear) and I kept up with him the whole time. Today in school he was harping at how fast my car was, which was pretty cool considering it's N/A and all.

That got me thinking, this summer I'm definately going to try to either get funds for or do a turbo swap. After the Shootout and seeing everyone's rides I think it'd be worth it, especially with all the miles on my motor. Also there are a few swaps going on right now so the more I see the forced aspiration glory the more I want it.

And (forget grammar) this Thursday I have a week off of school, it's pretty sweet.

Are you going to put a turbo engine in there or just the turbo?

thats a big 'ole buttload of chassis miles. Might consider a newer shell if you are interested in stiffer suspension down the road...

good point Scott

IF I can find a touring wagon around here I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. That said all options are on the table. (where did I hear that one recently?) At that if there is an SS I'd pick that up just as quickly, auto or manual I don't really care.

Right now I should probably write it off as something to think about, my car probably needs gasket work or something, I think I may have recently gotten some oil problems.

Summer starts in 2 months for me so I have time, I also have a savings account, an unused garage, and another vehicle to drive. If the sheisse hits the fan I'd still have to get another car and something I'm familiar with would still be nice. I'd definately keep in in the family if not a BC/BF/BJ.
