AutoCad LT question
Moderator: Moderators
I'll try to keep it brief and clear. I'm trying to reprint some blueprints here at work and the problem is that there's text on the prints that won't display properly (ie. either really light gray or not at all). This wouldn't be a huge deal but they need to be accurate to the T, especially since some of the text is in the bottom right hand corner (I used to know what the box was called that had the title and page # in it). I've selected everything and went into the format --> layer menu and changed the color of every layer to black (we don't have easy access to a color plotter) and this worked for some of the stuff but not all. So, next I tried to select it all and explode it. This worked but now all the text that didn't display properly disappeared and in it's place was data references. For example where it said First Quality Tissue it now would say Company_Name like a data tag or something. Anyway, I figured out the text in question is a block reference with attributes linked to a database. What I need to do is to print the document all in black, including this block text. That's the best I can explain it in a hurry. I've tried paint too with no luck.

It kindof sounds like your plot style is messed up.
Is there anyway of emailing me the file to better understand what you describing.

If you send it be sure to send it in original form not the one you have been messing with.

I don't see why you'd need to explode anything. You should be able to select the things and change the color with the pull down box.
I think that if the color of objects aren't set to bylayer, they won't change if you change the color of the layer. Also, make sure the layers aren't locked.

Yeah, I was fully certified in autocad 2d and 3d and also solidworks and inventor about a year and a half ago. I was in a program to be a drafter but dropped out when I starting making twice as much as a drafter would with the degree. I was going at night for an AS. I did get enough credits to get me certified however. My point in case you were wondering if I had one is that I have forgotten all the cool stuff I learned because I dont use autocad on a daily basis. I do have it on my laptop for emergency use on the road if I need to design something quick on the spot. I miss solidworks, that was awesome to use...
