New York International Auto Show... now with 56k death

Post by corsair »

Hey all, I'm heading up there tomorrow and was wondering if anyone would like some pics snapped of anything in particular? I'll host my plunder and put it up in the gallery when I get back on Sunday.

Um you can see if Infiniti did anything cool with the G35 coupe. I've been waiting for them to put the awd thats available in the sedan into the coupe. Other than that I would say that I'm not interested in seeing any subaru vagina pics as I too am "not a fan of the vagina" lol .....that quote will go down in history man lol

yeah the tribeca and any of its spawn will not be shown

however, there may be a GTR concept from Nissan/Infiniti there so I'll get a picture of that, I think it's like a G coupe with AWD and more power

also there will probably be the facelifted Forester (non female reproductiove version) and the Evo 9... yay

bah, it wasn't very impressive

new Forester isn't to shabby
they had a WRC car there, that was sweet

the Evo is a sweet car, if I had the money I might go to the darkside, the Evo 9 is really sweet

lots of other cool cars... got a lot of pics, i'll have them up tomorrow, i have around 130 or so

sadly there was no new Skyline there, the Saabaru is nice (Phil take note, nice saab interior with a WRX powertrain (stage 4?))

blah blah blah, nothing else, if anyone wants my opinions of any car or whatever just ask, I'll get those pics up Sunday afternoon

the usual share of hybrids

Mercedes will be introducing more diesels to their lineup including some big 400 ft/lb. monster in their new R class 'sports tourer"

Honda still has their 3

Lexus RX400h is pretty nice, it's the RX330 with some electrical power

GMC Sierra has their Hybrid, again

I think Chevy had some stuff about their version of displacement on demand but I was busy laughing at this (need to attach once it's up on the FTP)

Displacement on demand? If that's in their trucks, I imagine it will be like the "Turbo" button on the old Tangents, kind of pointless because it was always on.

I'm still waiting for more H2 technology. :)

DOD turns off injectors and spark to turn your v8 into a v6 or ?V4? under light load. As soon as you push the pedal, it provides gas to more cyls and more displacement is "created." Evidently there is no perceptible lag, just a slight boost in economy. The magnum/300c already has the system on the market. IMHO it's a fantastic idea, you get the instant power and torque of the 8 with fuel economy of a 4 with a lot of reciprocating mass- just what suits american "tastes."

I remember seeing that vehicle on my jeep clubs website. I believe it was called a Hurricane and it was supposed to have twin hemi V8's (one in each end) and a zero degree turning radius. The pictures we got from jeep were all black. I like carbon fiber I just think an entire vehicle made of the stuff looks as little silly. I guess it is good for weight reduction while still keeping it rigidity.

Hell I like any off-road vehicle. I wish I could get my hands on a good used Uni-mog someday.

'mogs are sweet, as for offroading, I have a '79 bronco in my driveway that's stock and it's probably more capable than anything I actually need.... the benefits of heirloom cars, the jeep was cool but they didn't drive it, they had that big course set up that I think any relatively well sealed up legacy could have taken

oh well, anyway

the Jagermeister picture is showing up right?

I sat in the Lincoln thinking about how it's just going to fail like the Blackwood and thought it smelled kinda weird. Then I started looking around inside of it and viola, in the center console was a bottle o Jager and a little puddle next to it.

Open container law anyone?
