Tire pressure detectors

Post by skid542 »

My friend saw this and sent it to me - http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/04/07/tire ... index.html

I personally think it's a good idea as the average motorist doesn't know squat about their tire pressures. For me I don't really see it being that advantageous as 25% is well beyond the tolerances I keep. What do you all think, anyone else seen this?

I know my aunt's toyota sienna has some kind of flat detector, which alerts to low pressure, and in some way, tire pressure. I think they're a great idea. If I could do it, I'd put one in my car. It's always a nice thing to know.. ya know?

Ideally I'd like to have a digital (I'd be fine with analog though) readout of each tire pressure accurate to + - 2 psi at worst. That I'd really dig on.

You can get one of these systems from subaru for about 32-34 grand. And it comes with a free 3.0 outback!

Hey, this reminds me of when I got out of my car just now and heard hissing coming from my rear left tire. A damn screw is in my tire.

That's not a bad little system they have. Someday when I'm not poor I'll have to look more into it.

Jamal - if only I had a nickle for every tire plug needed because of a screw, just sucks.

I put in the FWD fuse, and it's funny how easily the tires spin. I'll never buy a FWD car in my life.
