Passing CA SMOG no cats, 1 cat or 2?

Post by kidwired »

My current plan is to remove the cat in the midpipe and replace the downpipe w/ a catless. I have spare midpipe and downpipe (WRX) w/ new cat's.

I'm thinking of keeping the cat'd midpipe to swap in for CA SMOG tests, I'm just wondering if I can pass w/ just one.

I may cut the cat out of the downpipe and add it to the midpipe so it will have 2 cats.
I don't need to wory too much about visuals.

Anyone have expierence?

Chris

I know a legacy with a 3 in exhaust and a high flow cat alone, and it passed ok.

Without them...I'm not sure you'll pass, but if your engine is fairly clean burning then you might have a chance.
