I finally got the nitrous hooked back up and working tonight since I last blew the motor awhile ago.
I had installed the nitrous sometime back but had problems, ie it didint seem to work, so I removed it the same day.
Last night I reinstalled everything real clean and sexy, and even installed an extra nozzle while I was at it for kicks if I every want to do "duel stage" nitrous. I took it out late after everything was set up perfect and attempted some runs.
nothing
I seemed to be fighting the demon again of possible bad nitrous.
But nope.
The nitrous wasnt bad, my setup was.
Back to when I was running nitrous successfully, I was using a jetting table for the jet ratios of nitrous to fuel. Everything went swell. Then I upped the supercharger boost and roasted a piston.
I rebuilt AND installed 30% larger injectors. Replaced the fuel pump with a Walbro unit AND replaced the intank fuel sock (this caused fuel pressure to jump about 20%).
Basically, the NO2 to fuel ratio via the jets now changed dramatically compared to pre-blown motor. I have just been running WAY rich compared to last year. There was so much fuel compared to the NO2 I was only keeping from bogging the motor by adding the nitrous!
So tonight I left the fuel jet where it was and basically doubled the HP rating of the nitrous jet and what do you know, I went fast.
Now I just have to fine tune the ratios and get down the track! I suspect even with the bad clutch I will be down to about 14.2. I hope, as I have predicted this before with dire consequences. If I actually had a clutch that could handle a launch and fast shifts I would be in the high 13's. Thats a fact Jack. I just don't have the money or time to prove it. Who wants to buy me a clutch?
Reinstalled the Nitrous finally.

That's awesome dude!
This clutch lasted, what? 6000 miles?
Get a good clutch!
You can get an Exedy or ACT disc, and use the factory pressure plate. A local is using an ACT clutch, stock WRX pressure plate, and stock WRX tranny and ran an 11.8 @ 121mph.

The clutch is the easy part. I dont want to pull the engine until I have ported some heads so I don't waste a weekend. As well as I might as well replace the pistons again since I have suffer mucho detonation while trying to figure out how to make serious power on the NA setup.
So basically to install the clutch, I need to buy the clutch, port and polish the heads, purchase new pistons and rings and have a weekend free.
I think I might just hang on a little longer. The only reason I need the clutch is for drag racing.

I really gotta get a spare engine and figure out the tear down and build up. A built engine is calling out to me.
Where are you getting forged pistons and stuff?

forged? are you crazy? Those cost money! I just buy 4 Rock brand pistons for $120!
It turns out this weird no name brand (to me) makes reputable stuff according to some DSM guys that work at the shop that I buy the pistons from (Import Discount Parts). They buy the cheap moly coated (Or some such gobblygook) pistons and run them at super high psi with no problems and have been super happy with the piston provided by Rock. When I get the next set of pistons though, I am going to slightly dish them for lower compression.
The rings I get are japan made nice rings. And of course the NA rods and crank are just as strong supposedly as your turbo stuff, so I just have left them alone.

Yes, but your also making less power than I intend to....
I want something that I don't need to drop the car for a weekend to replace stuff.... of course for the summer I will have another mode of transportation...
I just don't want to keep having to spend 200 bucks and a weekend to rip the car down and replace stuff.

I'm really wanting to do a rebuild, as well.. but I can never find the time, space, nor the supervision.. I don't always know what I'm doing.. so... it gets difficult.
But PNP heads are also on my list, and probably what I'll end up doing, as well as some kind of custom build. I told you guys strong builds were the way to go!
I'm getting many thoughts in my head.. oh, the powah!
