hello im asking this for my friend. he already has a good looking 93 legacy (n/a, fwd)

Image

with a new paint job but he needs some suggestions on what to start with on the motor. I know your going to say intake and exhaust but is there anythhing else that can be done besides forced induction to make this car quicker? Ive tried searches but havent found exactly what im looking for. thanks :D

Out of curiosity, what color did he paint the car? Is that a subaru blue?
And whats wrong with intake and exhaust? Its not forced induction, its the first place to start even with NA cars I thought...But besides that he could do lightweight, underdriven pulleys...I think their might be some piggy backs for the ecu that give you some power...then there always a lighter flywheel, which will speed up shifts and let the car rev faster. You could get head work done, port + polish, 3 angle valve seats etc...headers, but you don't seem to want to do the exhaust. YOu could try the unheated TB mod people are talking about. Lighter wheels/tires lighter seats, hood, remove spare tire, remove sounds insulation, just start taking things off the car until it doesn't run anymore, when you hit that point, put the last thing you took off back on the car, and viola, your car will be lighter, hence faster, and it will still have everything it needs to run!

The color is WRX blue I already knew about intake and exhaust but I guess the only real way to go is forced induction.

Yes, gun metal grey would be really nice. I was thinking about doing that color on my wagon when I eventually get a paint job.

Where'd your friend get that spoiler for his car. I've kinda been tinkering with the idea of getting a spoiler that sits a little higher, but I'm not sure. I don't want some big whale fin sitting on my trunk, and I really don't mind our spoiler right now.
