yeah, it kind of pissed me off that they wouldn't fix my auto seatbelt. I finally got it back to the locked position and unplugged the motor. I'd like to do the manual conversion, eventually. The auto belt doesn't hold me in place as well, since I can't cinch down the shoulder belt.

Take the Vin tag off of a 95
I was dissapointed as well, since I bought a door latch and w/ switch, a complete motor and track assembly, thats ALL 3 sensors and it hasnt solved my problem.
Good news is now I have spares

I'm going to try a controller next....

I think they'd notice the difference between a 93 and a 95, being different body styles and having auto belts and all.

If by controller you mean the seatbelt computer in the trunk, there, yes, replacing that DOES help. I couldn't tell you for sure which solved my seatbelt problem, as I replaced the entire DS assy, as well as the computer, but now both my belts work flawlessly, like I want them to :D

Do you really think they'd warranty automatic seabelts?

That's because 95 and up aren't automatic.

I took a 1980 Accord in with a broken seatbelt a few years ago, and it was covered. Something about a critical safety device. Why does it start with 1995 year models with Subaru?

because people that own 94 and older subarus dont matter. They're unlikely to buy new ones, so subaru has no use for them. :-p

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I called about this and the 95 thing is true. And you know what, the tag is ripped on my Lap Belt on the passenger side and it would cost 400 DOLLARS to have this one lousy belt replaced. What a f--king ripoff.

And @ 74 DOLLARS/HOUR you can understand why I'm a bit angry.

Do it yourself. It's not hard to access all of the seat belt stuff.

The electronics and stuff would never be covered, but I could have sworn that the belts themselves would be. You might want to do some federal research on automotive restraint laws. The actual motor and computer controlling the auto belt wouldn't be warranty, but the fabric belt itself should be.
