yes, i am making another tank thread. but i havent seen this angle explored yet in the six pages of search results i sifted through.
would it be possible to put the wrx tank where the australians have their tanks?
here is a guys cardomain site w/some good engine bay pics of his Liberty RS:

i was wondering why the WRX tank is so much smaller and now i understand it is to make room for the fuel rail and all the hardlines on that front pass side of the engine.
the only thing i see missing is the obvious mounts on the intake manifold. i would assume that could be overcome w/some custom brackets.
space may be an issue but if the coffee mug mod is performed that should free up some space. plumbing would be a bit easier to deal with. the only one that would need some creativity is the one to the radiator overflow tank. and that wouldnt even be that hard.

The easy way yo do this would be to buy my coolant lines and hoses from my RS-RA motor.
I have already done this conversion once on a USDM turbo. A little cutting is required of the hard coolant line brackets to clear the dip stick on the way to the water pump. I also had to bend it slightly to clear the manifold wiring harness and get it to come out between the runners cleanly on the passenger side. We ended up just zip tying it in place as a temporay fix for mounting...
