ok so i got 2 sets of rails from the yard yesterday, one set from a 93 legacy and one from a gc imprezza im guessing 98 but the front end was missing so im not sure. it had tgv's so im thinking its newer.
the rails in the terms of where they bolt on to the maniflod, the way the epf is possioned on the right rail and the bolt pattern and position on the ends of the left rails are identical. the part numbers are off by only 1 number. the last three numbers on the legacy rails are 050 whereas the last there numbers for the gc are 070.
there were only 2 injectors left in the legacy rails as the other 2 were jacked before i got there. the metal pieces that hold the injectors down were also missing. after fenagling the injectors out of their places and taking some plastic off while i was at it i tried modding them. so far as i can tell they are moddable by the looks but when i tried i must have done something wrong because it seems that i already hit the little plunger thingie and renedred the injector for the most part, useless.
from the looks of things the gc injectors are identical aside from the color. the legacy ones are red top where the gc are grey. they both have a little plastic things with 4 prongs over the tips and they both have 4 holes where the fuel is ejected.
now for the questions, when taking the injectors out i had to hit them with a hammer on the tips so they backed out enough to lever them out with a flat head screwdriver. im thinking that its not too good of an idea to do that. so what is the best way to get the injectors out rather than hitting them with a hammer. secondly on the gc rails the metal pieces that hold them down are still on and are really hard to get off. in fhi's infinate inteligence they used only a phillips head bolt to put it on instead of an actualy hex head bolt. point is, i cant get the dam things off, again i ask how do you get this off or should i say what is the best way to get it off.
hopefully i will be able to test fit blues which i know can be modded somethime this week even though we all know that they will most likely fit in these rails.
oh and 91 na will not work from the looks of things. they are cituated very differently

Take a pair of pliers and twist the injectors by the tops and twist them out. I would definitely not hit the bottom of the injectors.
As for the screws/caps. try using a vice grip or channel lock to grab the screw, or just use a grinder to grind the head away.

That's odd..... The screws holding my injectors down have a hex head w/ a philips in the center.

i wish they had a hex head, it would make my life soo much easier.
as for twisting them out, their not screwed in so i dont see how that would help, espcialy since i tried that and they just twisted in place. the pliers actualy took off some of the plastic on the top of the injector

A GC with TGV's? I don't think that's normal. Just go look at the vin of the car. The reason he was saying to twist them is to break the seal.

yeah, i thought it was odd too. it wasnt turbo or anything like that. just a white gc. as far as i could tell it was a drifting accident that sent it there. the interior was pretty complete the front end was gone but there was no visible damage to the frame or radatior supports and headlight mounts. the rest of the car was pretty good too. but the suspension on one side was all folded over like it hit a curb at high speed.
i would go back to check the vin on it but it costs money to get in and i have nothing else to get. that and its in bfe so yeah...

update,
the na injectors are not moddable every way i tried i couldnt get the thingie with the holes in it off. i did on one but the as mentioned before, it renders the injector useless
