cv-joints

Post by georryan »

Hey have any of you had a cv-joint go out without having the boot ripped? My cv-joint sounds like it is going out, but I've checked the boots and they are fine.

Every other cv-joint I've changed on a subaru has been because of a ripped boot.

It probably ripped in the past, allowed dirt inside and the dirt acted like sandpaper slowly wearing it down.

Either that or you got a rebuilt axle from a place that only does an inspection and reuses old parts.
