The Happy Memorial Day Wishing/Plan Telling Thread

Post by tris91ricer »

What up, Fam?

Alright, just let me drop this, first:

These days off
are about more than beers and backyard barbeques;
Be sure to stop and thank the ones who died for you.

They stood in the line-of-fire
While bullets whizzed by 'em
Protectors of our lives, capitalistic mindsets,
For all the things we do
Freedom, let's not forget:

Comes with a price
That some paid like Christ;
They went down in flames
So that we could be saved
And they're not even worried about being repaid!

So when you crack one open, raise it to the sky.
Drink deep and reminsce of those
Who've let you speak your mind.
Without fear of persecution or hurt;
There's men you've never met
Who've crawled around in the dirt!

Since centuries ago, when we were not free
They banded together, fighting, so that we
Now have the inalienable right
to pursue what makes us happy.

Whatever you choose
To chase
Is up to you
But
Please be safe
Whatever you do!

Yea, that's right I'm shakin' a finger!

:lol:

I love you, LCO! <3

So, who's got something interesting to add?

Screw it, I might take a personal day on Sunday. I'll go up and visit Dad's grave and think of happier times...wait...there's never been any. Just kidding, there were a few days in there.

This weekend I may actually be able to PUT IN THE HELLAS! Only chances of rain and I'm seeing blue sky for the first time in two weeks. Have to work Monday, though.

I just got my non-temptag plate on my bike. I'm going to wax her up tomorrow and ride her around. Tonight I'll be the one getting ridden. Image

what a weekend......I did nothing but work on vehicles.....ugh.

Let me preface my story with the fact I traveled all over creation last week for work. Six different plane trips from sunday evening to thursday afternoon....crazy.

I didn't bother going into work on friday.....screw 'em....they got their hours out of me. Anyway, I needed to change the coolant and swap out the thermostat on the truck, and put new shocks on. After working on the nissan, I'll take my subaru any day of the week. Things are NOT laid out in a nice easy way to work on them. I got the coolant changed and went to swap out the shocks. I will say, putting on the shocks is a lot easier then the struts.

I however discovered that the left rear wheel cylinder was leaking.... I lucked out and the local parts store had one in stock. I wrestled with those damn drum brakes till like 9 or 10 at night. This one damn spring didn't want to go in. I test drove it, and the brakes worked, however the parking brake didn't, and there was a weird noise. I went to bed and looked at it in the morning. One of the adjusters was not in place, so that was a relatively easy fix.

Now, on to the car. I had needed to replace the oil seals/o-ring in the rear diff. I posted my saga in my original thread
http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=20794

Then I cleaned the garage up today, and washed the car.

That's pretty much been my weekend. I'm beat.....but at least it's been productive I guess.....

Well I spent a lot of time working on cars.
Saturday I got my car running. Coolant tank, 3"exhaust, wbO2, knock sensor. That was great because it's not sitting in my garage any more.

Sunday I worked on my old Legacy, helped Nick pull the engine and replace the clutch. I have to say I'm getting pretty good at pulling the engine, I'd say 5 1/2 hrs for the whole job.

I spent my weekend working…for the military. We are sitting “alert” and the rest of the base had a 4 day weekend so it was pretty quiet. Since things were so quiet we set up a little put-put course around the facility and the flightline, hoping some jack ass didn’t get his Cessna over the White House while we were enjoying the weather. So it was a pretty chill weekend and despite being at work we even got our BBQ’n and golf’n in. But the best part was when a few commercial jets came in and parked right by us bringing a bunch of Army guys from the sandbox. Which ended my complaints about working this weekend, I felt pretty bad walking around out of uniform and BBQ’n as these folks walked by. But we happily gave away a bunch of burgers and cigs to them.
