************cliff notes at the bottom**************

ok so a few months ago i was surfing the net and came across some great reviews of the xmods rc cars, some of you may remember me mentioning it and that i bought it and hated it.

well last week or so i came across this thread on nabisco's OT.

i must explain that im not much of a gamer but their good to have around when your bored and have nothing to do. a situation im in alot of the time. well need for speed underground has quenching my thirst for a little while but having beat it twice it wasnt all that fun anymore.

well back to the thread, it was on a game called gtr. in its many pages it was touted as one of the best games ever and that it was probaly better than gt4. so today after not racing in autox i went to the store for some shoe cleaner and enede up with the game and the cleaner

to give it least credit the game is a farse. its the stupidest thing i have ever played. not that i play alot of games but seriously it is so frustrating and aful that i wanted to shoot my computer, thanking god i dont have a proper gun. i realize that they were going for realism but this is just stupid. for example your at the line in grid and you start. no reving before the green just gas when it says go. you set off and all of a sudden the power comes on in your viper and all it does is flips the car completly around. get it back in control and set off again and some how you make it into second gear when the power comes on again and once again your doing doughnuts. finaly you make it to a corner hit the breaks and they work but turn in and it turns so sharp that you could do a U turn in a one lane road. go into a turn to heavy and your in a wall at which point your body pannels go flying and thats the end of the race

i must say that this must be the story of my life. full of disapointments. most of which are brought on by the things i see and read on the net. i hope i can go and at least trade it for nfsu2 which will be a least bit entertaining but my hopes arent high.

CN: i read that a game is good. i go and buy the game in hopes of curing boredom and find that it has just made my shitty existence worse.

How is that? I've heard both better and worse than GT4.

As far as game reviews go, I always look at two or more before I take the plunge and I try to see if it's G4 TV. I've only ever had one or two that reviewed well that sucked. On the flip side I've bought games that I like even thought they review horribly. A good example is Kings Field. I love King's Field but the reviewers don't like it that much. The gloomy settings are cool. It reminds me of Minotaur for Intellivision.

Scott fkn loves forza. It is better than GT# in every regard. ...Although, i never was very fond of GT#'s horrendous physics and wallrideyness anyway.

+1 for never trusting game reviews.
With that said, GT4 > Forza. Forza has some good stuff going for it: online, damage that affects driving, customization for ricing, background track environments look pretty, and skid marks.
Forza probably looks better overall cause of the tracks, but the cars look about the same as GT4. I can't really decide graphically since I play through a TV Box. To simulate this picture quality hold a mesh screen in front of your eyes.
GT4 has about 3x the number of cars Forza does and about 4x the tracks (not sure on tracks). GT4 has force feedback, which is pure radness with the GT wheel. Although you can't paint the hood like in Forza, there are more customization options in some cases. The GT4 Saleen S7 has engine upgrade options while Forza's does not. GT4's AI is better, it doesn't BRAKE CHECK you like Forza does sometimes (even on straights). The worst thing about GT4 is the time penalties in the rallies for hitting the other car. (You will hate these when the other car hits you)
