Sheild wires necessary?

Post by Impregacy »

there are like four sensors on the legacy turbo that are sheilded by the ECU. Is it necessary to have their sheilds hooked up and working? I'm swapping an EJ22t into an impreza which has no sheilded sensor wires. So it would be difficult for me to add the sheilding to the impreza's wiring harness. I have a bunch of that sheilding wire from the donar car laying around but it's all cut up so would it be safe to just wrap it with electical tape or something? Or would the ECU throw codes or something?

Thanks
