260,000!

Post by corsair »

Well tonight on the way home from dropping a friend off in town my car hit 260,000. I didn't snap a pic as I didn't have my camera but as I sat at a light I got to see the 2 and the 60000 partially rolled and just stared as I rolled forward when the light turned green to make an even 260000.

Not bad for a car with the original engine and transmission, huh?

I don't think I've driven cars with over 150K on them.

My Legacy at 143k has the highest mileage of any car in my family.

i BOUGHT my car w/over 150,000 on it. bought it in december 98 w/154,000 on it for 6,500. when ones w/less miles wre going for almost twice as much.

havent spent one more dime on it than i would have spent on a car 60,000.

Haha Matt, if it weren't for the fact that she has some skin cancer, lifter tick, and an exhaust from hell (or lack thereof) I'd say she were still brand new.

-edit: what would I know anyway? this car has gotten me into and out of so much in the year I've driven it, and even in years before, like my Mom coming home in the Blizzard of 95 under the snow, as in it was going up over the roof of the car but the Subaru just went through no problem. so many other stories.-

my father-in-law's volkswagen beetle rolled to 454,ooo miles

he just kept putting better motors in when one would crap out, and you could see the road through the see-through fiberglassed floors

last I knew the car was still driveable, he died before the car did

I bought my 92 with 127K and in the three years I had it it made it to 210K. I traded it in and it was sold, so I assume it is still rollin' somewhere.
