everything. The radiator isn't as thick, so you might have trouble boosting up a long hill on a hot day with the ac on.

You'll also have to do something about mounting an NA radiator in your turbo.

For what it's worth I did just what you said Scott yesterday. In 5th I believe. Gauge didn't move, but that doesn't really mean anything.

Honestly....you'd probably be fine with a n/a radiator. They are just so over designed IMO.

I'll definitely find out when I get mine in.

Josh, wanna go in with me on custom aluminum radiators in NA dimensions but with a larger core? Maybe with the turbo design (no cap, and fitting on the side) I don't trust this radiator for much over stock power.

Depends on the cost. Have you priced them? If so, how do they compare to a stock turbo radiator?

What I meant was, have you contacted a radiator shop that does custom jobs, spoke with them about your desires, and a rough cost.

Personally, it'd probably just be cheaper to buy a turbo radiator.

Unfortunately the FSM doesn't give a heat capacity for the radiator. I've got the dimensions for both, so I think I'm going to see if there is a "general" rule of thumb regarding how much more cooling is there due to the added size of the turbo radiator.

It's not the cost of the radiator that concerns me. It's the rewelding of the framerail to accomidate the turbo radiator. PWR did a group buy for SVX for I think $450, but they had fitment problems. THe cost of that rad now is $699 out of the group buy.

why do you have to reweld the framerail to accomodate the radiator?

All digression aside, Are there any body parts that will bolt on to my car from different years of legacy?
Also, do the NA hoods have a scoop?

The turbo radiator, along with just about every other new gen subaru radiator, is taller than the NA radiator.

Every body part from 90-94 will bolt on, but only 90-91 will fit properly and only 92-94 will fit properly, meaning hood, fenders, bumper, lights, grill as a set.

Hmm.....I didn't know that......that's good to know though.

Have you had any overheating issues?

So let's say a body kit for a 93 or 94 legacy, that will bolt right on? And if I can find fenders, a bumper, and a hood from a 91-94 legacy they will fit right?

It should, but where are you getting a kit for a 93-94 legacy? And will they send more over?

No, there are two body styles 90-91, and 92-94. 90-91 parts only fit with other 90-91 parts, and 92-94 parts only fit with other 92-94 parts.

As I said up above, I went up a hill in 5th, boosting, with the AC on, and the gauge didn't move. Who knows how accurate these gauges are though. We were using the vrg-scan tool and the temp read 194 degrees F after driving around for a bit, with a max of 1 psi. So it's still within spec but not really that good of a measurement since I couldn't produce boost.

What body kit/parts are you looking at?

As for temp gauge accuracy, I'd trust mine to be a fairly good indicator as the needle changes with conditions that seem to be appropriate. Some gauges I've seen just seem to have three modes: cold, normal, and melted.

A friend of mine works for a business that does custom fiberglassing, and he saw that there was interest in producing about 20 of these hand crafted kits. This is really only a local thing, but I'm sure he would do the work and ship it if there was enough interest for profit. Anyways, my kit will be dirt cheap, in the range of $500 Canadian, and custom fiberglassed. I'm helping him design the kit to what legacy owners like, i.e. not riced out, just nice flowing body lines. I will have pictures when this is done.
This should prove to be quit an adventure!

On another note, if this falls through, I need to get all the same year components to fit together properly? That's all thats needed?

For the front end, yes. The different parts are: hood, fenders, grille, headlights (post facelift don't have the headlight brackets the early ones do), sidemarkers, and bumper.

Just to clarify before I order the parts, turns out the parts car is a 1991 n/a, and I'm getting the whole front end. This will work on my 92 SS?

No, the 90-91 hood, body parts, etc will not fit on a 92-94 legacy....and vice versa.

I would be getting the rad support as well, essentially swapping the whole front end.
