engin swap

i just bought my first subi it is a 1986 gl fastback and i want to put a legacy torbo motor and trany in to it and i am just wondering if the mounts line up and how much work it will be
any help would be greatly apreceated

I'd say go search the USMB, there is a guy on there with a EJ swap into a 88 RX. http://www.ultimatesubaru.net/forum/

I also know of a few WRX engine swaps into Brats (Brumbys) by Aussies so I'd say it can be done, how hard it will be is another question.

do you have the turbo motor yet?

if not you could start w/a n/a 2.2, that will be a increase of nearly 50 HP. and if you get a 2.5 you will boost it by 80hp. that is twice what you have now.
