EJ22T weight?

Post by scuzzy »

I'm about to order the engine to replace my car; I found out for $450 I get the engine, everything attached, minus the accessories, that includes the exhaust manifold, turbocharger, all the lines, sensors, intake tubing, and crap like that.

pretty nice eh.

anyway.

what does this damn thing weigh roughly? I know someone had to have shipped them before; I was quoted an estimated weight of 550lbs, I'm curious if it's closer to 300lbs or what?

Legacy92ej22t, VRG3, and myself lifted an engine minus turbo, but with accessories into a Tahoe.

I'd say right around 350-ish. 550 would be with all accessories, turbo, and probably ECU, wiring, and all of that other shit.

My roommate and I lifted mine, which had the turbo and all that but no accessories, and carried out of the truck and into my garage no problem. The main thing is that it was awkward. My guess for the engine sans accessories would be 200-230. That sounds in line with what scottzg said.

I agree that it's probably 250 max turbo, but no accessories. A friend and carried it out of the wagon to my kitchen door. Neither of us are muscle men.
